Volunteer Coordinator
Description: The City Radio Officer is the General Manager of the ACS Program and
shall have control of all of its activities.
Biography: Captain Nida is a 26 year veteran of the
LAFD and heads up the Department's volunteer program which
includes the 100 member amateur radio program. Captain Nida is
also working on fire mutual aid radio systems, radio
interoperability and has been recently appointed to an
additional Incident Management Team, totaling three.

ACS Operations Officer
Description: Will manage the activation and deployment of
responders for drill and emergency activities including the
activation of the paging systems and net control functions. He
can delegate responsibilities to DCULs as deemed appropriate.
Biography: Truman has been a Firefighter/Paramedic
for over 32 years with LAFD and he is also a US&R (Urban
Search & Rescue) Communication
Specialist with LAFD CATF-1 (Calif. Task Force 1- which is the
FEMA designation for US&R teams in Calif). Truman as been involved with ACS
for over 10 years and has been the Operations Officer for over 5
years.

Description: Is responsible for preparing the annual
calendar of events, scheduling drills and training sessions, and
will perform the document control function.
Biography: Alberto was first licensed as a Novice in
1999. He is an avid Ham who works 2 meters 80 & 40 meters, always
looking for different awards to earn & looking for special event
stations. In ACS he is our Webmaster. Besides taking on the
position of DCUL for Battalion 2 he has been instrumental in
mentoring many people to become Hams and join ACS.

ACS Logistics Officer
Description: The ACS Logistics Officer
is responsible for the maintenance and operation of ACS physical
resources including the ACS trailer, mobile command posts, and
radio equipment.
Biography: Mark started with LAFD in 1988 & is in the
Equipment Engineering Unit. He develops all LAFD vehicle &
equipment specifications for bid & purchase. He uses his Ham &
LAFD skills to develop, install & maintain the ACS trailer, motor
pool & antennae at FS 88 & old 77's. He is an ACS Founding Member.

Description: Will keep both
organizations informed of current training schedules,
radio channel plans (Comm Plan), and operational requirements.
Biography: Jonathan is a retired Volunteer Firefighter II
/ Engineer / Wildland Firefighter. He is currently a production
manager in the film industry and has been very active in
creating Safety, Illness & Injury Prevention programs in his
current field as well as for the Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade in New
Mexico. He is a CERT Level III First Responder.

Biography: Becoming a Ham in 1990 Ted is now an Extra
Class. He worked in ARRL's Amateur Radio Emergency Service in
L.A. & was part of the original ACS group. He has been Assistant
Div 1 DCUL & Battalion 5 BCUL. He is a Volunteer Examiner. Ted
has volunteered at many walkathons, marathons & emergencies in
L.A. including the 1994 Northridge quake.

Members, and is responsible for effective application of the
policy, rules and regulations, practices and procedures of the ACS Program within his command.
Biography: John retired from a technical support
position after 32 years with Pacific Bell. He became involved with
ACS in 2000 & has held Battalion 2 BCUL & Div 1 DCUL prior
to his present position as ACS Planning Section Officer. Ham
pursuits include runner safety for several races. He is
currently the moderator of the weekly ACS Open Post-Net
Roundtable.

Biography: Marty was first licensed in 1967 and holds an
Extra Class license. A long-time contest operator, Marty is
active in ACS and ARES as an instructor and net control operator.
He was recently elected Vice-Director for the ARRL's Southwestern
Division. His past positions include chair of the L. A. Area
Council or Radio Clubs, president of the So. Calif. DX Club and
chair of the ARRL Contest Advisory Committee. Marty is a frequent
speaker at clubs and conventions and is both a Volunteer Examiner
and Volunteer Instructor. Professionally, Marty is a retired CPA
and Chief Financial Officer.
